Cold Weather Advisory Issued for Foster as Dangerous Wind Chills Move In

January 29, 2026 — The Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company is urging residents to take precautions as a Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect for Foster and surrounding areas. Issued by the National Weather Service in Boston, the advisory runs from 7:00 p.m. Thursday through 11:00 a.m. Friday, with dangerously cold wind chills expected to drop as low as 18 to 20 degrees below zero. The extreme cold poses a significant risk for hypothermia and frostbite if proper precautions are not taken. Residents are advised to limit time outdoors when possible and wear appropriate winter clothing, including hats and gloves, when traveling or working outside.
