January 25, 2026 — East Providence Fire Department and Emergency Management Agency crews responded to a structure fire on Palmer Avenue during the morning hours, facing heavy snowfall and difficult winter conditions. Firefighters advanced an aggressive interior attack, quickly locating and containing the fire before it could extend further through the residence. Despite slick roadways and reduced visibility, crews executed an effective stop, limiting damage and ensuring scene safety. Assistance from the East Providence Police Department and on-scene support from the Special Signal Fire Association / Providence Canteen played an important role in the successful operation.
