January 24, 2026 — With a major snowstorm expected to impact the area within the next 24 hours, the Little Compton Fire Department is urging residents to take time now to prepare for severe winter conditions. In anticipation of increased call volume and hazardous travel, the department has enhanced staffing levels, supplementing its regular duty crew of three with five additional firefighters on duty to ensure rapid emergency response throughout the storm. Fire officials remind the public to stay off the roads if possible, secure necessary supplies, and take steps to stay warm and safe as the storm approaches. The department will remain fully operational and ready to respond as conditions evolve.
