Multi-Department Response Brings Structure Fire Under Control in Little Compton

LITTLE COMPTON, RI - At approximately 12:50 p.m. on January 20th, the Little Compton Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire with vehicle involvement at 69 Old Harbor Road.
Engine 1, Tanker 1, and Car 1 were dispatched, and upon arrival, Car 1 reported heavy fire conditions on the Charlie side of the residence, with flames involving both the structure and a vehicle. Due to the intensity of the fire and winter conditions, the East Bay Tanker Taskforce was activated to ensure adequate water supply and resources.
First-due crews initiated an aggressive primary fire attack, while multiple mutual aid departments provided critical assistance. Firefighters from Tiverton, Westport (MA), Portsmouth, Bristol, Warren, and Middletown worked alongside Little Compton crews to bring the fire under control.
The Rhode Island State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to investigate the cause. Additional support was provided by Little Compton Police, Little Compton DPW, Special Signal Fire Association/Providence Canteen, RI DOT, and RI Energy.
