January 22, 2026 — With a winter storm forecast to impact the Warren area from Sunday into Monday, the Warren Fire Department is urging residents to help keep fire hydrants accessible during and after the storm. Fire officials emphasized that while volunteers will work to clear hydrants if conditions require, residents can play a critical role by clearing hydrants located on or near their property. During major winter storms, firefighters and EMS personnel are often stretched thin responding to medical emergencies, carbon monoxide and fire alarms, motor vehicle accidents, public assists, and downed wires. Clearing snow and ice from hydrants helps ensure immediate access to water during a fire, saving valuable time when seconds matter most. The department encourages residents to stay informed on the forecast and thanked the community for helping keep Warren safe during severe winter weather.
