Jan. 26, 2026 — The Dumont Volunteer Fire Department responded on mutual aid during the late evening hours of Monday, Jan. 26, after being dispatched at approximately 9:42 p.m. to a reported house fire on West Main Street in Bergenfield. Engine 5 and Chief 211 were assigned to assist the Bergenfield Fire Department as crews encountered heavy fire conditions within the residence. Dumont personnel supported suppression efforts, conducted primary searches, and assisted with overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and no hidden hot spots remained.
