Dumont Firefighters Provide Mutual Aid at Bergenfield House Fire

Jan. 26, 2026 — The Dumont Volunteer Fire Department responded on mutual aid during the late evening hours of Monday, Jan. 26, after being dispatched at approximately 9:42 p.m. to a reported house fire on West Main Street in Bergenfield. Engine 5 and Chief 211 were assigned to assist the Bergenfield Fire Department as crews encountered heavy fire conditions within the residence. Dumont personnel supported suppression efforts, conducted primary searches, and assisted with overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and no hidden hot spots remained. The coordinated response between departments helped bring the incident under control and demonstrated the importance of mutual aid partnerships in managing working structure fires across the region.
