Last weekend, the Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. #1 of Flagtown Fire/Rescue conducted its biannual installation dinner, where members were honored for their two years of service and elected officers took the oath of office. President Michael Carone, Vice President William Riordan, Treasurer Dawn Carone, Treasurer's Secretary Greg Kane, Recording Secretary Nancy Murray, Corresponding Secretary William Woodruff, and Trustee James Farley are among the executive officers. John Stone, Delaney Carone, and William Riordan have been appointed engineers for 2026.
Awards and honors were also given out throughout the event. Lynn Petner, the administrative assistant for the Fire District, received recognition for her administrative assistance. Plaques commemorating his two and a half years of service were given to departing Chief Tyler Riordan. Firefighter of the Year honors were presented to William Riordan (2024) and Santiago Urosa (2025). Probationary Firefighter of the Year awards went to Mariel Gulla (2024) and Ryan Guzy (2025).
