December 28, 2025 — Members of the Hamburg Volunteer Fire Department conducted specialized winter training for their all-terrain vehicle (ATV) team, practicing operations on snow- and ice-covered surfaces to ensure readiness during severe weather conditions.
The department’s STAR Team operates two ATVs equipped with interchangeable track systems that replace standard wheels during the winter months, allowing the units to remain fully functional year-round in challenging terrain and weather.
The training focused on safe maneuvering, control, and response capabilities, reinforcing the department’s ability to access hard-to-reach areas during emergencies when traditional apparatus may be limited.
