Grand Island Fire Company Volunteers Answer More Than 2,000 Calls in 2025

January 1, 2026 — The Grand Island Fire Company reported a busy and demanding year in 2025, as its volunteer members responded to a total of 2,038 emergency calls across the community. According to year-end statistics released by the department, the majority of responses involved emergency medical services, accounting for 1,547 EMS calls, while firefighters also handled 387 fire-related incidents. In addition, officers responded to 104 calls in leadership and support roles.
Department officials noted that the numbers highlight both the growing demand for emergency services and the continued dedication of the all-volunteer force, whose members balance training, response duties, and community service to protect residents year-round.
The Grand Island Fire Company thanked its volunteers and the community for their ongoing support as they look ahead to another year of service.
