January 21, 2026 — The Ellwood Volunteer Fire Department and the Town of Tonawanda Police Club are set to renew their friendly rivalry on the ice during a charity hockey game benefiting Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue.

The annual matchup will take place Sunday, January 25, at 9:00 p.m. at the Paddock Chevrolet Ice Arena.

Proceeds from the game will support Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue, a Western New York–based nonprofit founded in 2013 that works to save dogs from shelters locally, across the South, and internationally. Organizers say the event combines community spirit, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to helping animals in need.
