January 16, 2026 — Buffalo Fire Department firefighters responded at approximately 11:09 p.m. Thursday night to a reported fire at 468 Emslie Street, where crews encountered heavy fire conditions that ultimately escalated to a four-alarm response.
Firefighters worked for more than seven hours in challenging overnight conditions before bringing the fire under control at approximately 3:45 a.m. The building was confirmed to be vacant at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Fire officials commended the professionalism, endurance, and dedication of the firefighters who operated for an extended period to safely contain the blaze and protect the surrounding area.
