Blackwood, NJ — Jan. 10 — An triggered fire alarm at the Lakeview Apartments rental office prompted the Chews Landing Fire Department to respond on Saturday morning. Within around five minutes, Chief 82, Tower Ladder 82, and Squad 88 arrived, discovered fire coming from the Bravo side of the structure, and transmitted a Working Fire box.

While the tower ladder team got ready for entry, Squad 88 secured its own water supply and extended a hoseline to launch a fire attack. A second alarm and an All Hands assignment were issued within ten minutes due to rapidly deteriorating conditions, and operations went into defense mode. Three aerial streams and numerous handlines were put into service to create two more water supplies. After roughly ninety minutes, the fire was contained.
