The Logan Township Fire Department is reminding residents to keep fire hydrants clear of snow and ice during winter weather to help ensure quick access during emergencies. Fire officials say hydrants that are buried or blocked can slow down firefighting operations at a time when every second matters. Delays in accessing a water supply can increase the risk to both residents and responding firefighters. Residents are asked to shovel and maintain a clear space of about three feet around hydrants near their homes and to clear a path from the hydrant to the street. Taking a few minutes to clear snow can make a meaningful difference during an emergency response. The department thanks the community for its continued cooperation and support in helping keep Logan Township safe throughout the winter season.
