WESTON, MA - On January 25th, Weston Fire received a call from the Meadowbrook School on Farm Road reporting a fire on the roof. Engines 1 and 3, along with Ambulance 1 and Ladder 1 responded, and on arrival they saw black smoke coming from the roof of the Vinik Family Center. Children inside the school were evacuated. Waltham Engine 4 and Ladder 2 had to cut short an ice training exercise to respond to the fire. The fire, which was knocked down fairly quickly, was determined to be caused by an HVAC unit.
