Linwood Fire Department Marks Milestone Year With Expanded Services and Record Call Volume

January 2, 2026 — The Linwood Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4370 reflected on a milestone year for the Linwood Fire Department in 2025, highlighting major growth in staffing, services, and community involvement. Department officials reported significant progress, including the hiring of additional career firefighters, sponsorship of local youth sports teams, expanded fire safety education for schools and senior residents, the launch of a new first responder program, and an updated department patch. In 2025, the department handled 599 total calls for service, consisting of 260 fire-related responses and 339 first responder calls, representing a 151 percent increase compared to 2024. Fire officials expressed appreciation to Mayor Matik and the City Council for their continued support, as well as to Linwood Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 for its dedication and partnership in advancing the department’s mission.
