These numbers are held exclusively by the member until they leave the department, retire, or pass away, at which point the badge number may be reassigned to a future generation of firefighters. An exception is made for Chief Officers, who are issued position-specific badge numbers during their tenure but retain their original badge numbers once they return to non-chief status. For the 2026 year, Chief Macri has been assigned badge F900, Assistant Chief Perna (Company 1) F901, and Assistant Chief Day (Company 2) F902, continuing a tradition that honors both service and legacy within the department.
