Bay Head, NJ — January 1 — As the new year gets underway, the Bay Head Fire Company No. 1 is encouraging locals to think about volunteering. Applications are being accepted by the department for a number of roles, including Associate Firefighter, Fire Police, and Active Firefighter. Throughout the year, volunteers assist with community events, training programs, traffic and scene management, and emergency response operations. Since training is given through department instruction and county-level programs, department officials point out that many positions do not require prior experience. By assisting with station operations and on-scene operations, Fire Police and Associate members play a crucial role. Leadership stressed that volunteering provides a chance to pick up new skills, collaborate with others, and actively help Bay Head's public safety.
