January 16, 2026 — Members of the Cambridge Fire Department took part in a focused and energetic training session Thursday evening centered on self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) donning. The drill combined repetition, proper technique, and a bit of friendly competition as firefighters challenged one another to improve speed while maintaining correct fit and safety procedures. The exercise emphasized the importance of muscle memory and efficiency when seconds matter most on the fireground. While the competitive aspect added some good-natured ribbing, the training ultimately strengthened teamwork, boosted confidence, and helped ensure all members are better prepared for real-world emergency responses.
