Two Drivers Trauma Alerted After Collision in NE Ocala

(OCALA, Fla.) Jan. 8, 2023 - On Sunday, Jan. 8, at approximately 2:54 p.m., Ocala Fire Rescue's Engine 5, Rescue 5, Tower 1, Battalion Chief 22, and a Safety Officer were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on the 2400 block Northeast 49th Terrace.

Units arrived on the scene to find a Nissan minivan and a Ford pick up truck with heavy front-end damage facing westbound on SR 40. The driver of the minivan was unable to exit the vehicle.

Crews used spreaders to pry the driver’s door and gain access to the patient.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital as trauma alerts.

An infant who was traveling in the minivan was not harmed.

The Ocala Police Department, Marion County Fire Rescue, and Marion County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
