January 16, 2026 — On Friday afternoon at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Hinesburg Fire Department responded to a reported commercial structure fire at a storage facility located off Executive Drive in Shelburne. Upon arrival, crews found multiple storage units actively involved with fire conditions present inside several compartments. Hinesburg Engine 1 deployed a hose line, secured a water supply from a nearby hydrant, and assisted with gaining access to affected storage units to support fire suppression efforts. Firefighters operated on scene for approximately two and a half hours, after which additional time was required back at the station to clean and restore equipment that had frozen due to dropping temperatures. Hinesburg Fire Department responded with an engine, rescue unit, and command vehicle, working alongside numerous mutual aid partners. The department expressed pride in supporting the Shelburne Fire Department and neighboring agencies during the incident. All inquiries regarding the fire have been directed to the Shelburne Incident Commander, Chief Andrew Dickerson.
