High Wind Safety Urged as Hazardous Conditions Develop Across Hinesburg

December 19, 2025 — With strong winds impacting the region, the Hinesburg Fire Department issued a public safety reminder urging residents to take precautions as everyday objects can quickly become dangerous in high-wind conditions. Officials advised securing or bringing inside loose outdoor items, staying clear of trees and power lines, and remaining alert for downed branches or wires while driving. Residents were also reminded to operate generators outdoors only and to call 911 immediately for any downed power lines or urgent hazards. Fire crews continued to monitor conditions throughout the day, emphasizing that community preparedness plays a key role in keeping everyone safe during severe weather.
