December 17, 2025 — Shortly after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, the Colchester Fire Department was requested to provide mutual aid to the Essex Fire Department for a reported structure fire at an apartment complex off Susie Wilson Road in Essex, Vermont. Colchester Fire responded with an engine company and a command vehicle to support on-scene operations. Upon arrival, crews assisted Essex firefighters with minor overhaul work and helped secure utilities after the fire was brought under control. The incident was quickly contained to the apartment of origin, with no reported extension to neighboring units. Once the scene was stabilized and operations concluded, Colchester personnel were released and returned to service. No injuries were reported in connection with the fire.
