Billerica firefighters were dispatched to 14 Mellon Drive for a reported building fire. Upon arrival, crews had smoke showing from floor 2 of the 3 story woodframe multi family apartment building. Crews began a search and stretched lines to extinguish the fire. Command requested a 2nd alarm bringing in mutual aid to the fire. Crews had the fire knocked down quickly and remained on scene checking for extension.
