Mutual Aid Crews Knock Down Barn Fire on Burke Hollow Road

Firefighters from West Burke and East Burke were dispatched shortly before 10 p.m. on Jan. 3, 2026, to a reported barn fire on Burke Hollow Road in West Burke. Upon arrival, crews confirmed a working fire and quickly requested additional mutual aid from Sutton Volunteer Fire Department and Lyndonville Fire Department, with Lyndon Rescue Inc. providing medical standby. Thanks to a rapid and coordinated response, the fire was knocked down efficiently, preventing extension to nearby structures. No injuries were reported, and the Burke Town Road crew promptly addressed icy road conditions while St. Johnsbury Emergency Dispatch coordinated communications throughout the incident.
