Early on December 26, 2025, the Peacham Volunteer Fire Department, alongside St. Johnsbury Fire Department, provided mutual aid to the Danville Volunteer Fire Department for a chimney fire that extended into a structure. The fire was discovered quickly after smoke detectors alerted the homeowner, allowing crews to intervene before conditions worsened. Firefighters worked through the early morning hours in icy conditions to open up walls, extinguish hidden fire, and ensure the structure was safe. Thanks to the rapid detection and coordinated response, damage to the home was kept to a minimum and no injuries were reported.
