On December 20, the Westfield Fire Department officially recognized 11 members who earned appointments within the past year, including four promotions and seven new firefighter hires.

Captain Daniel Genovese, Captain Michael Sawicki, Captain Ryan Dullea, and Battalion Chief Thomas Bottini were all promoted throughout the year. Corey Menafra, Christian DeEsposito, Parker Puglisi, Benjamin Hasenkopf, Jonathan Wong, Jack Clarke, and Theodore "Teddy" Trojan are among the recently hired firefighters. The department's leadership also considered a year filled with noteworthy achievements. The department's first-ever Insurance Services Office Level 2 rating came in the beginning of 2025. In June, the department celebrated its 150th anniversary and finished replacing all of its self-contained breathing apparatus to improve firefighter safety. In addition to public safety partners and nearby departments, officials commended town administration, particularly Mayor Shelley Brindle, for their ongoing assistance and collaboration in serving the Westfield community.
