December 29 — Alpha, New Jersey: Following an early-am structure fire that forced several people to flee their homes, the Alpha Volunteer Fire Company was asked to send personnel into Phillipsburg on Monday morning. Rescue Engine 82, Utility 82, and Chief 82 responded, bringing the total number of personnel on the assignment to 12. While more AVFC personnel stayed back in Alpha to guarantee coverage for any local crises, crews were deployed to support operations in Phillipsburg. The incident was a single-family home fire that necessitated a coordinated response from several authorities, according to reports from the local media. While command oversaw scene operations, firefighters assisted with suppression and overhaul efforts.
