Chichester, NH — 22nd December — During a collaborative training night on fire behavior and fireground operations, Chichester Fire Department personnel trained alongside Pittsfield Fire Department personnel. The impact of firefighter activities on fire conditions during occurrences was covered in the session.
A Palmer Dollhouse, a practical training tool designed to illustrate fire growth and development, the impact of ventilation, and how water application alters interior conditions, was constructed and run by crews. Members were able to discuss tactical decisions and see consequences in real time through controlled burning. According to officials, this kind of training enhances decision-making and promotes safer, more efficient operations. Departments emphasized the importance of regional training collaborations in preserving preparedness and enhancing community service.
