GENOA, NY - On January 7th, just before 9:15 a.m., Cayuga County 911 sent the Genoa Volunteer Fire Department to help Southern Cayuga Instant Aid, Inc. and the King Ferry Fire Department with a reported fall injury in the 300 block of NY Route 34. Cars 1 through 4, Rescue 1, and Engine 2 were Genoa's response. After arriving in a matter of minutes and confirming a fall of roughly 30 to 35 feet, Rescue 1 started treating the patient right away. A landing zone was created for LifeNet of New York 7-12 by Genoa Engine 2 and King Ferry units. In addition to the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police, 15 Genoa personnel were on the scene. After around 90 minutes, the situation was cleared and given to state police.
