Candia Fire Performs Extrication and RSI at Route 101 Crash

CANDIA, NH — December 25 — Candia Fire Rescue, located at 11 Deerfield Road in Candia, New Hampshire, was called to a car accident on Route 101 near Exit 3 on December 25. When Ambulance 2 arrived, they discovered a single, severely damaged car far off the road and a patient in critical condition who needed to be extricated.


While Auburn Fire Department Engine 2 came and helped with extrication, ambulance staff started providing patient treatment. Squad 1 and Candia Engine 2 monitored and assisted with operations. Prior to the patient's transfer to Elliot Hospital, Candia paramedics performed rapid sequence intubation. This was the second significant collision this week that needed Candia Fire's RSI. The New Hampshire State Police and Candia Police also offered assistance.
