Stratford Fire Quickly Controls Chimney Fire on Nichols Avenue

On the evening of January 9, firefighters from the Stratford Fire Department arrived and promptly put out a chimney fire on Nichols Avenue. There was little damage because the fire spread to the outside of the building. Before the fire service arrived, the occupants safely left the house after being notified by a functional smoke detector. To stop further expansion, workers secured the chimney and its surroundings.
