MARGARETVILLE, NY — December 26 — The Margaretville Fire Department, situated at 77 Church Street in Margaretville, New York, reported that snowfall was piling quickly around the region. Temperatures dropped to 20 degrees, visibility was diminished, and many roads were still untreated.
According to emergency services, these circumstances make drivers and responders more vulnerable. Drivers were instructed to carry basic supplies on hand in case of delays and to limit their journey wherever feasible. It was advised to park cars off of major thoroughfares, including village streets, so that emergency equipment and snow ploughs could function safely. Road conditions and response times are frequently affected by winter storms in the area. During the ongoing snow event, crews kept an eye on the weather and remained prepared while collaborating with nearby authorities and the route.
