MARGARETVILLE, NY — December 19 — While keeping an eye on the district's winter weather, the Margaretville Fire Department, situated at 77 Church Street in Margaretville, New York, provided a brief update. In addition to poor visibility and slick road surfaces, there were reports of sleet in the area.

As circumstances altered, the department acknowledged support and correspondence from nearby agencies. Wintertime frequently results in more calls for power problems, felled trees, and traffic accidents, necessitating increased departmental coordination. Crews kept an eye on the situation, reviewed reaction preparedness, and reminded drivers to drive carefully. During seasonal occurrences that impact travel and response times, weather awareness and neighbor-to-neighbor communication are still crucial. Prioritizing responder safety and upholding coverage, the department continued to be ready to respond to calls as needed.
