FLEISCHMANNS, NY — December 19 — A busy day of winter-related occurrences was handled by the Fleischmanns Fire Department. In order to lessen risks to locals and drivers, crews responded to many complaints of fallen trees and utility wires, protecting the area and working with utility companies. The department was asked to help with a reported structure fire in the Big Indian region later that day. Until they were released, units responded as mutual aid and supported operations. Calls pertaining to weather-related issues like fallen trees and wires necessitate careful size-up, traffic management, and agency coordination. During a time of higher call traffic, the response showed consistent operations and mutual aid cooperation. After finishing their missions, all units went back into duty, and during seasonal weather conditions, staff remained prepared for any further calls around the district.
