Homer Units Respond to Single-Vehicle Roadway Incident

HOMER, NY — January 7 — The Homer Fire Department, situated at 45 S Main St. in Homer, New York, was called to the vicinity of Foster Road and Route 90 in response to a complaint of an airbag-deployed car plunging into a ditch. Units 562 and 502 of Homer Fire/Rescue arrived on the scene.
Crews found one car off the road when they arrived. Firefighters made sure the car was stable, guarded the area, and looked for potential dangers. One subject was taken by TLC for additional medical evaluation after emergency medical personnel assessed the occupant. In order to safeguard responders and oncoming drivers during operations, traffic control was implemented. Coordinated efforts between EMS and fire departments working on a rural roadway allowed the situation to be handled effectively.
