HOMER, NY — December 20 — A reported structure fire at 246 Cold Brook Road in the Town of Spafford prompted the Homer Fire Department to respond as mutual aid. The Spafford Fire Department requested one engine to help with operations.
Due to restricted hydrant access in the region, Homer Engine 501 was assigned to the draughting detail. To assist first-arriving firms in their suppression operations, crews set up and maintained a water supply. To guarantee consistent water flow and secure operations, firefighters worked closely with mutual aid partners. In a rural area where water supply planning is essential, the incident took place. Responding staff did not report any injuries. During the December 20 rural structure fire events, the reaction demonstrated efficient coordination of mutual aid.
