HOMER, NY - The Homer Fire Department was called to the intersection of Route 41 and Houghton Hill Road on December 9, 2025, in response to a complaint of a car in a ditch with a trapped occupant and a potential vehicle fire. Before firefighters could arrive, the motorist was successfully released by the County Sheriff's Office. While in route, responding firemen received updates and modified their assignments. Crews assessed for fire dangers, secured the car, and helped with scene safety as soon as they arrived.
