MELBOURNE, FL - Melbourne Police Officers responded to the area of W H Jackson Street and the railroad tracks regarding a vehicle hitting a Brightline train on January 10th. Officers found that a Honda Element SUV was traveling west on W H Jackson Street when it struck a Brightline train that was northbound. The vehicle had four occupants, and the adult male driver of the vehicle succumbed to his injuries. One person was airlifted from the scene and two others were transported to Melbourne's Holmes Regional Medical Center. No condition of these patients has been released. The crash was under investigation by the Melbourne Police Department.
