NEW WINDSOR, NY - Vails Gate FD responded to a tractor-trailer rollover on the NYS Thruway at mile marker 57 northbound on January 7th. The tractor-trailer went off the roadway into a wooded area. New Windsor EMS responded. A Medevac was launched and circled the area. One lane of traffic was blocked in the northbound lane. Firefighters assisted removing the driver and then New Windsor EMS transported the subject to Montefiore-St. Luke's Hospital. Thruway DOT members were at the scene along with New York State Police who are investigating the cause.
