HUDSON, NY — December 13 — Staff from PL Vulcan Training Solutions participated in a full day of Rapid Intervention Team training with personnel of the City of Hudson Fire Department, located at 77 N. 7th Street in Hudson.

Firefighter rescue and self-rescue techniques utilized in situations involving trapped or incapacitated firemen were the main topics of the workshop. Experienced personnel of the Worcester Fire Department and the City of New York Fire Department led the instruction, which was based on knowledge gained from ongoing fireground operations. Air management, search strategies, firefighter packaging, and coordinated removal tactics were all included in the training. In order to strengthen regional mutual-aid readiness and uniform rescue procedures across departments, members of the Chatham Fire Department also took part.
