On December 20, the Binghamton Fire Department held its inaugural Santa Ride to commemorate the Christmas season and spread joy across the city's communities. Families and kids rushed outdoors to wave and greet firefighters as Santa was transported around the neighborhood's streets on a fully decorated fire truck. The event, which focused on constructive community contact outside of emergencies, was staffed and organized by department personnel who volunteered their time. Many families came together to participate in the nighttime ride, and firefighters observed tremendous support from the locals.
