NEW LONDON, CT - Around 7:30 P.M. on Friday, January 5th, the New London Fire Department was dispatched to 154 Connecticut Avenue for a house fire. Battalion 1 arrived to fire showing from the second-floor on the 'Charlie' and 'Delta' sides.
Engine 2 stretched a one-and-three-quarter-inch hose line to the second-floor and began suppressing the fire. Engine 1 established the water supply while Engine 3 stretched a second line. Truck 2 flew their bucket to the roof and performed vertical ventilation. Both New London Ambulances searched and helped open up.
Waterford Truck 15 backed into the block and scrubbed the 'Delta' side. The Waterford crew also stretched a line to hit the soffit. Chief Curcio transmitted the second-alarm, which brought in an engine from Electric Boat and Norwich FAST. Waterford Ambulance and Groton Ambulance also provided assistance on scene. The New London Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
