Chatham, New Jersey — December 20 — A burning smell outside a home on Schindler Court prompted the Chatham Borough Volunteer Fire Department Association to react. When Chatham Borough Police Department and fire department units arrived, they discovered smoke and forced entry, confirming the existence of an active fire.
The Morris County Communications Centre was used to request mutual aid after a working residential fire was reported. Engine 2 and Quint 1 firefighters started the inside fire attack and overhaul. The Green Village Fire Department covered the Chatham firehouse, while the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department, Madison Fire Department, and Florham Park Fire Department offered assistance. Chatham Emergency Squad, Inc. was ready to provide medical assistance.
