Budd Lake, New Jersey — December 7 — In observance of Pearl Harbour Remembrance Day, which commemorates the anniversary of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbour, the Budd Lake Volunteer Fire Department joined organizations across the country. The incident caused the United States to enter World War II and claimed the lives of over 2,400 service members and civilians.
The day emphasizes the significance of preparedness, coordination, and service during major emergencies for today's emergency services workers. The necessity of a coordinated reaction, unambiguous command, and dedication under duress was highlighted by the events of December 7. The Budd Lake Volunteer Fire Department, located at 378 Route 46, acknowledged the occasion as a time to honour the deceased and consider the timeless lessons of duty, responsibility, and readiness that still serve as a guidance for public safety organizations.
