Later this spring, a Man vs. Machinery technical rescue training session will be held at Tunkhannock Township Volunteer Fire Company Station 42. On Sunday, March 29, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., PL Vulcan Fire Training Concepts will conduct the course at the Station 42 firehouse on Long Pond Road in Long Pond.

With an emphasis on methods for freeing victims from complicated entrapment circumstances and machinery, the curriculum will integrate classroom learning with practical skills. Auger entrapments, impalements, vehicle-related rescues, and torch operations will all be covered, with a focus on effective, safe problem-solving. It will be necessary for firefighters taking part in actual evolutions to bring the proper personal protective equipment. Firefighters participating in practical evolutions will be required to bring appropriate personal protective equipment. Registration is required by March 1, and additional information is available through Station 42.
