December 28, 2025 – A Wind Advisory was issued by the National Weather Service Binghamton at 12:59 p.m. on December 28 and remains in effect from 1:00 p.m. Monday until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30. The advisory covers all of central New York and much of northeast Pennsylvania, including Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wyoming, Bradford, Susquehanna, Pike, and Wayne counties. Forecasters expect west winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts reaching up to 50 mph, which could blow around unsecured objects, down tree limbs, and result in isolated power outages. Officials caution that strong winds may make travel difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles, and urge motorists and residents to use extra caution throughout the advisory period.
