Blue Ridge Fire Company Marks Year of Service and Volunteer Commitment

After a hectic year of operations and training, the Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder Fire Company honored the commitment and devotion of its active volunteer members as the year drew to an end. Volunteers completed 1,080 hours of training, responded to 381 emergencies, and contributed 1,230 hours to fundraising activities during the year. The additional time spent managing operational and administrative duties behind the scenes is not included in these statistics, department officials pointed out.
The agency stressed that the figures reflect more than just statistics, including time spent away from family, lengthy hours after work, and an ongoing dedication to community service. Members are still committed to enhancing service delivery, preparation, and training as 2026 draws near.
