The Hammonton Fire Department was called to Peach Street at around 3:00 p.m. on January 5th due to a reported building fire. When the fire command arrived, they discovered a single-story home that was completely engulfed. In an effort to contain the main body of fire, the first-arriving equipment launched an internal fire assault. The majority of the fire was quickly put out by firefighters, preventing it from spreading deeper within the building. Before resolving the issue at 4:30 p.m., crews stayed on the scene for a last inspection and overhaul. The Collings Lakes Fire Department and the Elwood Volunteer Fire Company, including Station 160 units, offered mutual aid support.
