The Wilkins Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1's Eastside Engine Company had a busy day on December 7th, with firefighters managing many assignments around the neighborhood. As part of their planned public safety coverage, firefighters worked a fireworks detail and reacted to many fire alarm activations over the day. Members supported the township's Christmas events by helping with Santa Claus' escort responsibilities in between calls. A mutual assistance reaction helped Station 227 at a commercial fryer fire in their district as the evening came to an end. In order to assist in containing the situation and make sure the area was handled appropriately, crews collaborated with other responders.
