Asbury Park, New Jersey — December 15 — Due to a box alarm that reported a house fire with persons trapped, the Asbury Park Fire Department, located at 800 Main Street, was called to the 200 block of Elizabeth Avenue.

When responders arrived, they performed a size-up and found that the situation featured a burning van that was endangering a nearby home. After swiftly putting out the car fire, firefighters examined the exposure to make sure the house was unaffected. There were no trapped occupants discovered. Command cancelled the box alert and kept the required units on the site once the situation was under control. Before leaving, firefighters stayed for a short while to keep an eye on things and make sure the scene was safe.
